Interactive Math Lesson - Slides Flips and Turns

Give your class's geometry skills a boost with this online math lesson from I Know It featuring slides, flips, and turns. In this digital math game geared toward second grade, students will decide whether the move shown is a slide, flip, or turn. Questions are presented in multiple-choice format.

As your second grade students put their basic geometry skills to the test, they will have access to plenty of handy features built into each math lesson designed to help them make the most out of their math practice session:

  • When students get stuck on a geometry problem, they can click on the "Hint" button to view a written or pictorial clue that will point them in the right direction without making the answer too easy.
  • When students get an answer incorrect, a detailed explanation page will pop up on the practice screen to show them the correct solution accompanied by an easy-to-understand explanation.
  • A progress-tracker in the upper-right corner of the practice screen shows children how many questions they have answered so far out of the total number of questions in the math activity.
  • A score-tracker beneath the progress-tracker lets students view how many points they have earned for correct responses.
  • Opposite, the speaker icon indicates the read-aloud feature. Students can click this button to hear the question read out loud to them in a clear voice. It's a great option for ESL/ELL students and children who are auditory processors!

All of the tools available in this second grade geometry game are designed to help students achieve more in their math practice.

In addition, they can explore other math lessons at their grade level and beyond for extra practice or an added challenge, if you choose to give them permission through your administrator account.
