I Know It is committed to working with our users to comply with laws, rules, and regulations governing the use and protection of Data, including the Children Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act ("FERPA") and their implementing regulations, applicable state laws, and statutes governing the Data which I Know It obtains from users. The school district administrators will set up and administer these accounts, and will assign the user names and passwords. A school district level account will have School Administrator Accounts, Teacher Accounts, and Student/Parent Accounts. Each of these accounts will have a separate user name and password, except that each student and his or her parent(s)/ guardian(s) will use the same username and password.
The second level is an account for a teacher/ individual classroom. The individual classroom teachers will set up and administer these accounts, and will assign the user names and passwords. A teacher/ individual classroom lever account will have Teacher Accounts and Student/Parent Accounts. Each of these accounts will have a separate user name and password, except that each student and his or her parent(s)/ guardian(s) will use the same username and password.
The third level is an account for a home/ parents(s). The parents will set up and administer these accounts, and will assign the user names and passwords. A home/ parent(s) level account will have Student/ Parent Accounts. The Parent and student will use the same username and password. Parents can have several children on one home/ parent(s) account.
I Know It will not sell or market directly to minors, and will always seek parental or legal guardian’s authorization whenever I Know It identifies that a minor attempts to purchase an I Know It product or service or attempts to create an account on the Website.
If I Know It learns that I Know It has inadvertently collected any PII from a user of the Website under the age of thirteen (13), I Know It will take steps to promptly delete such information. If a parent or legal guardian determines that any information is disclosed to I Know It by his or her child who is under the age of thirteen (13), the parent or legal guardian may contact I Know It using the contact information below to ascertain the information collected and/ or to request its deletion.
Accounts on this Website are typically created by parents, teachers, and educational institutions. I Know It does not permit children under the age of thirteen (13) to create an account and does not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of thirteen (13) without the consent of a parent or educational institution. Only teachers, administrators, and parents may enter basic information, such as a child's/ student’s name, grade level, ability level (what grade level a student is performing at) class or teacher name, student ID, and parent e-mail address (so I Know It can e-mail scores to parents when a student completes a lesson).
The Website contains educational quizzes and educational games. Children/ students will be able to log on to the Website to take these educational quizzes and play these educational games. Scores and progress are recorded for parents, teachers and/ or administrators. Answers entered by children/ students will be recorded and may be reported to school administrators, teachers, or parents. Children’s/ student’s answers will also be used to calculate scores and progress reports. In addition, I Know It may collect and store answers provided by users of accounts created by parents and educational institutions for the purpose of providing feedback to the user and educational institution, and for compiling reports and giving out awards.
I Know It may also collect and store an e-mail address provided by parents, teachers, and educational institutions for the purpose of password reset. Students and children cannot reset their passwords. I Know It will not collect the email addresses of children or students. I Know It will not ask children under the age of thirteen (13) for more information, as a condition of participation, than is reasonably necessary to participate in a given activity.
If you are under the age of thirteen (13), you must have your parent, guardian, teacher, and/ or school administrator create an account for you before you can use this Website. You must be eighteen (18) or older to order a subscription/ create an account on this Website.
Parents/ legal guardians may view their children’s progress, quiz results and other information. Only authorized persons can access student data. The student and parent/ guardian of the student have access to the student’s account at all times via the student’s username and password. Additionally, the school district administrators and teacher(s) assigned to the student have access to the student account through their own password-protected accounts. I Know It representatives have access to administrator, teacher, and student accounts for the purpose of assisting those individuals with access to their accounts, and for billing and analytics purposes. I Know It supports access to student personal information to parents and students for review and correction whether the access is through I Know It or through the school, teacher, or educational entity.
Students cannot privately communicate with one another or send messages to one another directly on the Website.
I Know It will not knowingly retain student personal information longer than necessary to deliver services or for school purposes.
I Know It will delete student data when a school administrator, teacher, or parent fails to renew their subscription within two (2) calendar years of the expiration of the subscription. In addition, if a school administrator, teacher, or parent desires to delete information from their account, they must provide their user name and indicate exactly which information they desire to have deleted to I Know It via email or facsimile. I Know It will verify this information with the school administrator, teacher, or parent prior to deletion.
A student cannot enter or edit his or her own personal information, such as name, grade level, ability level, class, student ID, parent email, username, or password.
I Know It will not display commercial advertisements on the Website to students. I Know It may promote its services and products, along with those of its business affiliates including T.P.W., Inc., Super Teacher Worksheets, and T.P.W. Websites, LLC, to school administrators and teachers.
I Know It will not advertise to students and parents** through email.
** If a parent has a home/student account, I Know It may advertise its own businesses to them through newsletters and email. However, I Know It will not advertise to parents of children who are under an Administrator Account and/ or Teacher Account.
I Know It will never send e-mails to students.
The Website uses "cookies" to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard drive by a website.
